The NEBOSH General Certificate syllabus covers the following areas of health and safety for the workplace environment:

NEBOSH Certification

The NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (to give it its full title!) is awarded to those delegates who complete the course and pass the examinations. The examinations consist of two written exams which last two hours each, and a practical assessment that involves a safety inspection of a work site and the production of a written report under exam conditions.

The NEBOSH General Certificate is accredited at Level 3 within the National Qualification Framework (NQF) by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.

The NEBOSH General Certificate also meets the requirements for Technician membership (TechIOSH) of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health), as well as Associate membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
